  1. Thrilled to find some new ones, it's been too long; but they were definitely worth the wait! I love "Passing Storm, Schoodic Mountains" and the eerie mood in the Addison ones is glorious.

Glad you like em , I have several large ones as well for this show Ill post as soon as i get a chance to take pictures .
The ' Passing storm ' one was kinda inspired by Kensett - his ' Contentment Island ' paintings especially . I want to do another, larger version of it

  5. Thanks Dianne,
I like that one too - I want to keep it :) It was fun doing encaustic even though I only managed to set a couple things on fire in the studio

  6. I actually started a fire in the studio because encaustic paint igniting on the heater. Damn hard to put the fire out and was lucky it didn't spread. That was 22 years ago and I've never touched the stuff since. Also the fumes from working with encaustic were awful.

  7. I just had a look at the gallery website Colin, your show looks amazing. I hope the opening went well; it would be fabulous to be there to see your paintings in person. One day I hope to own one of your beautiful works :)

    Colin-
I am ever so captivated by your work. I guess I missed out on the painting you did of the Olympic mountains of Washington state. I can only hope to own one of your oils in the future. I look forward to seeing your 2008/summer show. Keep up the beautiful work, and take care.

  10. Hi Colin!
Its Kim Carlson. Im so glad to see you doing so amazingly well!

Id love to look at some of your work in person.. Would like to consider purchasing one of yours or of your moms for someone..

The colors and sensuality of the landscapes I have seen of yours are memorizing.

My friend just came through a divorce and lost all of his art..most of which he didn't choose to begin with and didnt care much for anyhow.. the few pieces he did choose and still has reminds me of something shared with the Barclay world of beauty and depth..I am sure he would love anything of yours or your moms!

Interesting and serendipitously three of my friends have your moms work in their homes just by pure coincidence..2 were purchased in Maine but they live here....i cant tell you how happy i was to see them and by far they are the best in each home framed beautifully and placed in very special places in each home.... Are you showing anywhere in the hudson valley? best, Thoras old high school friend.. kimberly carlson
